What We Have Now
Port St. Lucie already has some great attractionsโthe Mets spring training at Clover Park, PGA Village golf, beautiful beaches, and the Botanical Gardens. But for a city of over 200,000 people, we need more variety and more options that don't require driving to West Palm Beach or Orlando.
What We're Missing
๐ญ Indoor Entertainment
Bowling alleys, escape rooms, and arcades are limited. We need more options for rainy days and summer heat.
๐ต Live Music Venues
Few dedicated spaces for local bands, touring acts, or community performances.
๐ Food Scene
Limited late-night dining, food halls, and diverse cuisine options.
๐ Recreation Centers
More indoor sports facilities, basketball courts, and fitness centers needed.
๐จ Arts & Culture
Art galleries, theaters, and cultural centers are underrepresented.
๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ Teen Spaces
Safe, engaging places for teenagers to hang out and socialize.
Steven's Plan
- Expand the MIDFLORIDA Event Center - Attract more concerts, comedy shows, and events to our existing venue.
- Pop-Up Events Program - Create a city program to help organizers host festivals, markets, and community gatherings with streamlined permitting and city support.
- Youth Activity Grants - Fund local organizations to create after-school and weekend programs for kids and teens.
- Public Art Initiative - Install murals, sculptures, and interactive art throughout the city to create visual interest and photo opportunities.
- Food Truck Fridays - Regular rotating food truck gatherings at city parks with live music and family activities.
- Movie Nights in the Park - Free outdoor screenings at different parks throughout the year.
- Sports Leagues for Adults - Expand city-run adult sports leagues including softball, volleyball, pickleball, and soccer.
- Waterfront Development - Improve riverfront access for kayaking, paddleboarding, and waterfront dining.
Events We Want to Create
- Monthly street festivals in Tradition and downtown areas
- Annual food and wine festival showcasing local restaurants
- Summer concert series at city parks
- Holiday light displays and seasonal celebrations
- Community sports tournaments
- Art walks featuring local artists
The Bottom Line
A great city isn't just about good roads and low taxesโit's about quality of life. As Mayor, I will work to make Port St. Lucie a place where there's always something fun to do, whether you're 8 or 80. Let's turn PSL into the entertainment destination of the Treasure Coast!
